SSC Stenographer Educational Qualification

According to SSC, Steno Grade C and D have a mandatory 12th passed

  • Candidates must have passed class 12th from any Educational Board or any other recognised Board/Institute.

SSC Stenographer 2026 Nationality

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

SSC Stenographer 2026 Recruitment Selection Process

The SSC Steno selection process is divided into two stages which are:

  • Stage 1- Written Test (CBT based)
  • Stage 2- Skill Test

The Commission will invite those candidates for the Skill Test who achieve the qualifying marks in the examination. The commission may also set qualifying marks for each section of the examination. The SSC Stenographer Skill Test will be of a qualifying nature, with the Commission determining the qualifying standards for different categories of candidates.

SSC Stenographer salaries vary depending on their grade or C ‘or’ D ‘. Grade ‘C’ stenographers will get more pay than Grade ‘D’ stenographers.
