JNV Selection Test 2025 For Class 6 Notification
JNVST is a national-level examination conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Every year, the JNV Selection Test is held for admission of talented students from the country in Navodaya Vidyalaya’s across the country in class 6th.
Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is based on a CBSE-designed and administered Selection Test – JNVST. The examination is known as the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test Class 6 (JNVST Class 6).

JNVST Class 6th (2025-26) Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), the student must fulfill all the eligibility conditions as per JNVST Class 6 Notification 2025. If students don’t meet the required eligibility criteria, their admission will be canceled and they won’t be able to be admitted to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. The Eligibility Criteria for JNV class 6 include age, class, previous education & no. attempts permitted. The following are the eligibility criteria for Class 6 NVS for Academic section 2025-2026.
JNVST Class 6th Eligibility Criteria for All:
- To be eligible for the JNVST Class 6 exam, the candidate’s age must be between 9 years to 13 years old.
- According to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is to be set up in each District in a phased manner. At present, 653 Vidyalayas are functional in 27 States and 08 Union Territories.
- Candidates must be in Class V for the entire academic session in a Government recognized school or ‘B’ Certificate Competency Course of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the same district
- A candidate from the rural quota must have studied and passed classes III, IV, and V at a Govt. recognized school for one full academic session each year in a rural school.
- Candidates who have not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before September 30th are not eligible to apply.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test – 2025
JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2025-26 will be held in two phases as given below:
A. On Saturday, 18th January 2025 at 11.30 A.M -In the State of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jammu & Kashmir (only for Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba) Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
B. On Saturday, 12th April, 2025 at 11.30 A.M– In the States of Jammu and Kashmir (except Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal, and Leh & Kargil districts of UT Ladakh.
JNVST Class 6 Reservation – Rural, SC/ST, OBC, Girls & Disabled Children
- At least one-third of the total seats are reserved for girls
- OBC students will be given a 27% reservation in addition to SC and ST students.

- Step 1: Visit navodaya’s official website: https://navodaya.gov.in/
- Step 2: Click on the JNV registration option on the homepage.
- Step 3: Click on the registration link for Class 6 admission.
- Step 4: Fill all the required details & Submit the required documents.
- Step 5: Tap on the submit button & Print the Application form.
- Step 6: Fill the printed form in given prescribed formats
- Step 7: Scan the copies of documents, visit the official portal & click on the JNV Selection Test registration form.
- Step 8: Upload all the scanned documents & complete JNVST registration.
Required Documents for Navodaya Selection test- class 6
- Proof of Date of Birth.
- For candidates seeking admission under the rural quota, a certificate proving that the child attended an institution/school in a rural area is required.
- For NIOS students, a residence certificate in the prescribed format is required.

JNVST Exam Pattern (2025-26)
The JNVST exam pattern 6th class includes the examination time, maximum marks, and No. of questions. According to the Navodaya Class 6 exam pattern 2025, the exam will be held in English, Hindi, and regional languages.
