What is NMMS?

The National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (राष्ट्रीय आर्थिक दुर्बल घटक विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी शिष्यवृत्ती योजना परीक्षा (NMMS)) is a federally funded scholarship programme. It is run by the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Human Resource Development with the aim of providing financial assistance to deserving students from economically weaker sections of society. NMMS Scholarship | Eligibility

Exclusively designed for deserving and underprivileged students of India, the MCM scholarship scheme requires all applicants to meet the specified eligibility criteria mentioned below in order to qualify for the selection test, which determines the recipients of the scholarship. Prospective applicants for the MCM scholarship must be enrolled as regular students in the 8th grade, having successfully completed 7th grade with a minimum score of 55% or equivalent grades. Applicants must be pursuing their education in government, local bodies, or government-aided schools. The annual family income of the candidates should not exceed INR 1.5 Lakh. Additionally, students enrolled in NVS, KVS, Sainik schools, and private schools are ineligible to apply for the MCM scholarship.
