Netarhat Residential School was founded on November 15, 1954, after India’s independence, for the people of Bihar. Shri Krishna Singh, Bihar’s first chief minister, and his deputy chief minister and finance minister, Anugrah Narayan Sinha, dreamed of establishing a center of excellence. Educationists Frederick Gordon Pearce, Jagadish Chandra Mather, and Sachidanand Sinha were instrumental in developing the school’s ideas. Rajendra Prasad, India’s president at the time, praised Pearce’s work.

Netarhat Eligibility
Eligibility for Netarhat Class 6 Admission is mainly based on three parameters, educational qualification, age, and domicile status. Given below are the eligibility criteria for the Netarhat Class 6 Admission 2024-25.
- It is mandatory for the candidate to be a native/local resident of Jharkhand state.
- The age of the student should not be less than 10 years and not more than 12 years. (Those students who were born between 1st August 2011 to 31st July 2013 will be considered eligible for admission.)
- The student must have passed the class 5 examination from any recognized school under the state of Jharkhand.
